This guy is hard to hate. Even those who dissmiss his music, personna, lifestyle and Trump hugs may admire how some of his wealth trickles down.

A fresh sign of generosity is a $100,000 donation -- or pledge, if you're a skeptical sort -- to The Barstool Fund, a Covid aid drive for small business owners organized by a national sports and pop culture site. It has raised $18.5 million so far and aided 74 businesses.

"This is the America I love! Put me down for 100k," Rock tweeted Monday with a link to the campaign. "And I only post this in hopes others as blessed as me may be moved to help out."

These Southeast Michigan spots buffeted by Covid-related losses got undisclosed amounts earlier from the fund:

  • Champ's Pub, Brighton

  • Premier Sports Center, Shelby Township

  • Salon Volume, Allen Park

  • Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack, Saline

Tax-deductible donations can be made here by credit card, check or crypto currency. Business owners maintaining an active payroll can apply here for assistance.
