West Bloomfield native Hannah Gross, an aspiring pop singer living in Los Angeles, had a moment of fame last Sunday when she sang the National Anthem at a Rams home game against the Arizona Cardinals.
"As far as close friends and family, everybody was super excited about it," said Gross, 28, a University of Michigan graduate who moved to Los Angeles five years ago.
Because of Covid, she made an audio recording of the classic song at home and sent it to the Rams' booking agentnso it could be played before the game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. She did not attend.
"I did it in one take," she said. "I wanted it to be as raw as possible."
Besides musical performances, and writing songs, Gross is a fitness instructor who teaches pilates.
