Video: Detroit fire truck plows into gas station in multi-vehicle crash

March 31, 2021, 9:23 PM

A Detroit fire rig went flying into a gas station pump Wednesday in a fiery crash caught on video.

The clip posted by WDIV's Nightcam (Tim Pamplin) shows that a Lincoln Navigator doesn't yield to the truck with flashing lights and pulls in front of it at Dequindre and State Fair. The fire rig jumps the curb to a gas station, where it hit another vehicle and pump. The Navigator crashed into a pole.

No major injuries occurred, according to WXYZ, but three firefighters and four others were taken to a hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Coincidentally, that same Citgo gas station was the scene of a nearly identical crash, also involving a fire truck, in the summer of 2019.
