The Wayne County Health Department now takes walk-up visits from county residents and workers 16 and older at its Covid vaccination clinics.
The county on Monday added clinics in Belleville and Flat Rock, bringing the total to four. The others are in Taylor and Livonia.
The expansion is expected to increase the county's weekly vaccine capacity to as many as 20,000 doses, the county says in a press release. It gave 180,495 shots as of last Tuesday, the latest data posted.
Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Saturday.
Residents and workers can schedule appointments with the Wayne County Health Department by calling (866) 610-3885. Detroiters residents can call (313) 230-0505 to schedule an appointment through the Detroit Health Department. All county sites will offer the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, depending on current supplies and shipments.
“Our goal is to get as many shots in arms as fast as we can, and to make it easy for our residents to do that,” Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans said in a statement. “We have vaccine. We have four regional clinics. Now is the time for everyone to get vaccinated. The surest way we can put this pandemic behind us is for everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
The new Belleville clinic is at Wayne County Community College-Ted Scott Campus, 9555 Haggerty Rd. The Flat Rock clinic is at the Flat Rock Community Center, 1 Maguire St.
The other two locations are: Wayne County Community College – Downriver Campus, 21000 Northline Rd., Taylor; and Schoolcraft College, VisTaTech Center, 18600 Haggerty Rd., Livonia.
