Any Detroiter who relies on a "good neighbor" to take them for a Covid vaccine should ask them to buy lunch on the way home. In an effort to boost vaccination rates, Mayor Mike Duggan announced today a $50 incentive for any so-called good neighbor driver.

The incentive will be paid via a prepaid debit card, so make sure that lunch is at a restaurant that takes plastic.

Some other restrictions apply: The payments are only for appointments, not walk-ins, and gift cards are limited to three per car. (See the tweet below.)

Duggan also announced two new sites to get the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine. The Northwest Activities Center and Straight Gate Church will offer shots by appointment or walk-in from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting tomorrow, April 29.
