Nessel targets Michigan reality star who claimed fat loss injections protect against Covid

A "90 Day Fiance" participant from West Michigan is known by viewers of the TLC show as somewhat of a kook. But Michigan's top law enforcer isn't looking the other way on a recent bogus claim made by Stephanie Davison, who credited fat loss injections from her weight loss business with helping her ward off Covid-19.

The 52-year-old told WOOD-TV that people "in the medical field" said she likely avoided contracting Covid because of ipamorelin/sermorelin injections offered by her Skin Envy weight loss centers.

Attorney General Dana Nessel order the business, where Davison is CEO, to retract the statement along with claims on its website that the injections boost the immune system. If that doesn't happen in 10 days, Nessel's office says it could sue.

“Misleading and false claims related to consumer products will not be tolerated,” Nessel is quoted as saying in a statement.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services staff also express concern about Davison’s statements.
