Detroit has casinos with drinks and bars with Keno. It may soon add sports betting to that cocktail via a concept by online betting operator DraftKings and national restaurant chain Sports & Social, the former of which says it hopes to broaden a business model that relies on solitary screen time.
The businesses plan "a chain of co-branded upscale venues that offer dining, entertainment and sports betting, starting in Detroit," The Detroit News says.
According to information released Thursday, the first markets DraftKings will look into are Detroit and Nashville, pending regulatory approvals.
There was reportedly a Sports & Social at Little Caesars Arena in 2017, but it closed. It's unclear which site the betting operator is eyeing.
