Alice Cooper gets street named for him near Westland asylum-turned-haunted attraction

Alice Cooper will be in town this week for a plethora of hometown things — including the dedication of Alice Cooper Court, a Westland stretch named for him near the former Eloise Psychiatric hospital, which has been converted into a haunted asylum whose ribbon he will also cut.

The rocker's visit is anchored by a Saturday DTE show where he'll perform his new album, "Detroit Stories." After his Westland stop Thursday, he'll host an album signing at the Rock City Music Company in Livonia, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The Eloise Asylum opens Oct. 1. The former Michigan Avenue hospital inspired the 2016 horror film, Eloise.
