Last month marked our 10th anniversary. It hasn't always been easy staying afloat. But it's important that voices in Detroit and beyond be heard and that government, universities, hospitals, mainstream media and other institutions be held accountable.
We've done our best to accomplish all that, and hopefully along the way we've entertained as well. We don't have a big staff, but we do manage to punch beyond our weight.
As the footprint of journalism shrinks in this town, we're proud to contribute articles, columns, videos and photo galleries on a daily basis, updating the site throughout the day and into the night.
Of course, it takes money to operate Deadline Detroit, to pay the staff and contributors who've made our daily online publication a viable media source.
As a reader, you can help by signing up for a Deadline Detroit membership for as little as $3 a month -- or give a one-time donation. Every bit helps.
To show appreciation, every month we randomly draw numbers and give prizes to three members.
For May, three supporters win $20 Amazon gift cards:
► David Yardley
► Lee Gaus
