A predawn weekend drama on I-75 concluded with a dangerous driver in handcuffs, instead of ending with smashed metal and ambulances.
Around 4 a.m. Saturday, state troopers chased and pulled over a motorist speeding south on the freeway's northbound side from Grange Hall Road in Ortonville to Dixie Highway in Clarkston. The northern Oakland County pursuit reached 100 mph, the agency tweets with a two-minute video:
When the driver was contacted he found to be intoxicated and unaware he was going the wrong way. The driver submitted to a blood draw and was lodged. Great job by the troops keeping this driver from hurting others or himself. 3/

"Lodged" is a police euphemism for jailed to await arraignment in court by Monday.
