On a slow news weekend, we declare this a news story.
A customer at Ale Mary’s on Main Street in Royal Oak noticed his Cartier diamond sunglasses went missing last weekend after he put them on the bar during lunch. He called police, thinking an employee stole them while clearing away the dishes.
Royal Oak police on Friday reviewed security video.
“A wait staff person picked up the napkins and things from the bar and threw the sunglasses in a garbage container,” Lt. Albert Carter tells The Oakland Press. “The restaurant is reimbursing him for the cost.”
