Both sides have been bomarding the TV with political advertisement. And both are running positive and negative ads.
That being said, Democratic U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin's lead over Republican former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers has grown to 8.5 percentage points, according to a Detroit News-WDIV poll of 600 likely general election voters. That's a jump from 5 point in a poll taken in July.
Specifically, the poll shows Slotkin with 43.5 percent compared to 35 percent for Rogers, the Detroit News reports. About 15 percent are undecided, with many of those identifying as independent.
Among the third-party candidates, about 3 percent support Libertarian nominee Joseph Solis-Mullen, 1.5 percent favor Green Party nominee Douglas Marsh and 1 percent back U.S. Taxpayers candidate Dave Stein, the News reports.
"Our polls have the race much closer, which is why we are continuing to invest millions of dollars in the Michigan Senate race," said Maggie Abboud, spokeswoman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee that's supporting Rogers.
