Fourteen cars and three semi trucks were involved in a pileup Monday around 1 p.m. on westbound I-94 near the Hartford exit in Van Buren County in western Michigan, Michigan State Police reported. One driver suffered critical injuries.
Police said factors included driving too fast in poor conditions that included heavy blowing snow that produced whiteout conditions.
By around 6:30 p.m., the roads were reopened in both directions, Michigan State Police said.
