A man and a woman were found dead late Friday night at the Holiday Inn Express on Baldwin Road in Auburn Hills. A 3-year-old girl was found unharmed inside the room, according to a press release from Auburn Hills Police.
Police said it appears to be a murder-suicide.
Officers responding to a domestic violence incident at approximately 10:45 p.m. heard two gunshots while approaching the room.
Investigators say it appears that a 33-year-old man from Vassar fatally shot a 34-year-old woman from Saginaw before taking his own life.
"The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab was called to the scene to assist with the investigation," the press release stated. "The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office will be performing autopsies on the deceased."
"Out of respect for the families involved in this tragedy, the names and photographs of the deceased individuals will not be released at this time. This was an isolated incident between the two deceased individuals; no one else was injured or involved in the altercation."
