Detroit Man Found Fatally Shot on Woodward in Ferndale

Police are searching for the person who fatally shot a 27-year-old Detroit man in Ferndale early Sunday morning. The victim was found lying outside a Ford Escape on southbound Woodward, on the bridge over 8 Mile Road, Fox 2 reports.

Police responded to a call about gunshots around 1:45 a.m.

First responders found that the victim had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Fox 2 reports that police learned the victim was driving when someone pulled up and started shooting.

"This is a tragic event, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. We are committed to finding those responsible," said Ferndale Police Chief Dennis Emmi. "We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing justice to the victim and his family."
