Ex-State Sen. Adam Hollier, a Democrat who had to drop out of the congressional race in Michigan’s 13th District last year due to invalid signatures on his nominating petitions, announced Monday that he will run again for the seat currently held by Democrat Shri Thanedar.

"From housing to daycare to the rising costs of groceries, we’re in a crisis," he posted on X on Monday. "We need bold solutions and leaders who will stand up for us—not the millionaires and billionaires. That's why I'm excited to announce I'm running to be the next Congressman from the 13th District!"

This marks Hollier's third bid for the seat, which represents most of Detroit, the Grosse Pointes, and the Downriver communities.

He told The Detroit News that he's running because people in the district have told him they feel no one is doing anything to address their struggles.

"Every day you hear from people all across the country that they're tired of millionaires and billionaires trying to buy our government—folks like Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Congressman Thanedar," Hollier said.

Thanedar is serving his second term in Congress.
