Enajee Lakiem Moore
Enajee Lakiem Moore, 26, of Detroit, faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with a fatal car crash last week that occurred during a police chase in northwest Detroit.
Last Friday around 8 p.m., Detroit police spotted a car with improper plates near Puritan and Coyle Streets, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
When officers attempted to make a traffic stop, Moore allegedly fled at a high rate of speed.
During the pursuit, Moore collided with another vehicle at Puritan and Murray Hill, causing the driver, 68-year-old Thurston Alexander of Detroit, to be ejected from his car. Alexander died from his injuries.
Moore then exited his vehicle and fled on foot but was captured by police after a brief chase.
In addition to second-degree murder, he faces charges of reckless driving causing death and first-degree fleeing and eluding.
He was arraigned Monday in Detroit's 36th District Court and remanded to the county jail. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for April 24.
