Brandon Lee Dwayne Littke, 25, of Redford, has been charged with abandoning two kittens at a Detroit gas station. He also faces a charge of animal killing/torturing.
On April 21, around 11:30 a.m., Littke allegedly threw two kittens out of a moving vehicle at a gas station in the 24800 block of West Seven Mile Road in Detroit, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
He also allegedly ran over and killed one of the kittens before fleeing the scene, the prosecutor's office said.
“No living being should ever be thrown from a moving vehicle," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy in a statement. "Does this really need to be said? The alleged actions of the defendant in this case are criminal and not acceptable on any level.”
Littke was arraigned Sunday in Detroit’s 36th District Court and released on a $25,000 personal bond. A probable cause conference is set for May 7.
