Millions of people in the Northeast were bracing on Friday for what forecasters said could be the biggest blizzard in a century. People rushed to stores to stock up on supplies, drivers lined up at gas stations to fill their tanks and local authorities from New York City to Maine started working to do battle with the snow that was starting to fall across the region.
