Forty clergy leaders from around Michigan have endorsed Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens for the U.S. Senate race in 2026.
“Michigan is home to extraordinary faith leaders, and I am proud to have the support of this dedicated coalition of clergy backing my campaign for Senate,” Stevens said in a press release issued Thursday. “I’ve spent my career fighting for Michigan and I look forward to working alongside community and faith leaders in the Senate to strengthen our communities, protect our freedoms, and make sure every Michigander can succeed.”
Others who have endorsed Stevens include state Rep. Joe Tate, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor, Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand, former Gov. Jim Blanchard, UNITE Here Local 24 and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.
She has also gotten the endorsement of mayors from Farmington Hills, Lathrup Village, Livonia, Northville, Huntington Woods, Farmington, Oak Park, Inkster, Harper Woods, Ecorse and Plymouth.
Abdul El-Sayed, another Democratic candidate in the race, has gotten the endorsements of Sen. Bernie Sanders, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans and a number of others.
Democratic State Sen. Mallory McMorrow has gotten the endorsement of a number of state lawmakers including Sen. Mary Cavanagh, Sen. Jon Cherry, Sen. Veronica Klinefelt and Sen.Sue Shink and others.
On the Republican side, former Congressman Mike Rogers has gotten the endorsement of President Donald Trump, Sen. John Thune, Sen. Tim Scott, former Congresswoman Candice Miller, Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido and a number of others.
