Rose's Fine Food, The Gem on Jefferson Ave. In Detroit, Has Reopened

Rose's Fine Food, the cozy, tasty restaurant at  10551 E. Jefferson, which closed in April 2023 after a nine-year run, reopened over the weekend.

“IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!!!!” the restaurant posted on Facebook. “Come see this Polish Rose Wednesday through Sunday, 4–10.”

Jer Staes of Daily Detroit visited the beloved restaurant over the weekend.

"I went to the soft opening over the weekend (on our own dime) and I can best describe owner Molly Mitchell's menu as inspired and elevated Polish food," he writes. "And it was good."

"The Braised Cabbage Lasagna was excellent. It's almost as if a cousin of Golumpki went on an Italian holiday and came home with some new ideas. The Kopytka was solid. And take a minute to appreciate the Zucchini."
