A local carmaker and pizza maker have cooked up something new.
Ford drivers with its voice-activated Sync dashboard system will be able to place and pay for a Domino's Pizza order while driving, starting this summer.

The Ann Arbor-based pizza chain announces the collaboration Tuesday in a news release and video. Ford touts it at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, writes Forbes contributor Dale Buss.
He speaks with Domino's CEO J. Patrick Doyle:
“This will be the first time any fast-food brand has been able to do this sort of e-commerce from a vehicle. The ability to tie all of this together with the Sync system and be able to order Domino’s while driving safely is a pretty big step. . . .
“Customers want to order using technology, and on a number of different platforms."
The piemaker's release explains how users who set up a personal profile wlll be able to order from their Ford:
Domino's customers can save their favorite pizza and menu item combination, address and payment information . . . at www.dominos.com or on their mobile app. The order can then be placed through the mobile app using simple voice commands provided by the SYNC system.
