The Fisher Building on West Grand Boulevard has lost some good restaurants over the years.

Here's the latest: The Zenith, a Mexican southern fusion restaurant opened in spring 2014 by a couple who moved from Boston,  closes Sunday, Melody Baetens writes in The Detroit News.

Owners Robert and Melissa Jasper announce the collapse on Facebook. ,

Unfortunately the circus is packing-up. Thank-you to everyone who supported us and the unbelievable passion and love we've received from so many of you about this kooky place of ours. We came to Detroit for MANY reasons and will remain living here in our beautiful house in Boston Edison. We've felt very welcomed and supported and have many new friends we'll now have the time to hang-out with as well. Thanks again Detroit!!! Robert and Melissa Jasper.

The ridiculous truth is that it's the 4 month theater (Fisher Theater) off-season all summer that's killing us. The new season starts Oct.20 which isn't all that far away. FRUSTRATING.

Fans of the restaurant respond on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Sam McCully: We live in Ann Arbor but made it a priority to try the Zenith for Brunch when we went to Detroit last year to visit the Eastern Market. We loved loved loved the food and service and have been wanting to make a return but our work schedules don't align with each other. I am so sad to hear this news....really fantastic fun delicious place. Good Luck with future endeavors.

Rachel Baumann So sorry, there is no place like yours. Your funky decor and fresh perspective on food will be missed. Please just move to a busier place and not close :, (

Dana Politi-Rashid: This breaks my heart to hear! You have been so good to us, Zenith!
