Dismal News: Metro Detroit Ranks 3rd in Nation With "Disconnected Youths"

This is one list Metro Detroiters wouldn't mind being further down.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Metro Detroit was the third worst metro area in the country when it comes to disconnected youth -- people 16-24 who are not in school or working.

A report by Sarah Burd-Sharps and Kristen Lewis found that 17 percent of the Metro Detroit area youth were disconnected. Phoenix was the worst and Boston had the best rate.
