After more than 10 years in business, the Rice Bowl Fresh Asian Kitchen in the Millender Center, one of Detroit's better Chinese restaraurants, quitely closed and will be replaced by a Thai restauarant.

Pheng Xiong, manager of Bangkok Crossing at 620 Woodward in downtown Detroit, said the Thai restaurant will be opening its second location in the spot occupied by the Rice Bowl.

The new restaurant is expected to open in mid-June or early July, she said.

The menu is expected to be the same, perhaps with a few less items because of the smaller kitchen.

A note on the door of the vacant Millender space reads:

Thank You!

We appreciate all our wonderful Rice Bowl Fresh Asian Kitchen customers for over 10 years of business and support.
