Dan Gilbert is recovering from a serious stroke in an in-patient rehab facility, according to a statement former Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner.
On Wednesday, Deadline Detroit reported the 57-year-old billionaire businessman had been discharged from Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where he underwent a catheter procedure following the May 26 stroke. A media representative with Quicken Loans declined to provide an update at that time.
"Yesterday, Dan Gilbert was discharged from the hospital and will now continue focusing on his recovery at an in-patient rehabilitation center," Farner says in the statement. "Dan is looking forward to beginning an intensive rehabilitation program and is eager to continue the progress he has made over the last several weeks."
Farner has previosly said Gilbert's recovery will "take time."
