Coleman A. Young II, a former state legislator who ran for mayor of Detroit in 2017, is hosting a new podcast for Deadline Detroit titled "30 Black."
Young, the son of the late Mayor Coleman A. Young, plans to discuss compelling issues facing the black community including politics, sports, entertainment and everything in between.
His first podcast is on environmental racism and how industry impacts economically challenged neighborhoods. (Listen below)
Young said he named the podcast "30 Black" because it addresses black issues for 30 minutes.
Young was in the Michigan legislature for 12 years, eight as a state senator and four years as a state representative. He now runs Coleman Young Consulting in downtown Detroit.
