"The only time I don't wear one is when I am alone, when I am home with my wife or when I am speaking in public," adds the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Here in Michigan, high school history teacher Abby Tanner of Eaton Rapids tweets a few days ago: "Commit to wearing a mask now to prevent the spread of Covid. It's that simple."

Our eighth array of masked faces from social media since early May shows eight prominent and ordinary state residents who agree it's that simple:

Detroit writer Marsha Music, Detroit Police Chief James Craig, Zakiyah Harbin, 6, of Southfield and U.S. Sen. Gary Peters of Rochester Hills.

Detroiters Nandi Comer, a writer; Chad Livengood, a journalist; schools Supt. Nikolai Vitti; and Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
