July 24, 2020, 7:46 AM

Update: The Tigers release tonight's starting lineup (see below)

The Detroit Tigers begin the 2020 semi-season Friday night in Cincinnati at 6:10 p.m.-- and oh how weird it will be with no fans in the stands.

Detroit Free Press columnist Mitch Albom writes:

Play ball! ...

And not much else.

No fans. No hot dogs. No “Beer here!” No programs.

No high-fives. No chewing tobacco. No locker room interviews.

He asked Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer how strange this has all been.

“On a scale of 1 to 10,” he replied, “it’s been a 12.”

Detroit's first home game of the 60-game season is Monday against the KC Royals.

Opening Day lineup and batting order:

1. Niko Goodrum, SS

2. Jonathan Schoop, 2B

3. Miguel Cabrera, DH

4. C.J. Cron, 1B

5. Christin Stewart, LF

6. Jeimer Candelario, 3B

7. Cameron Maybin, RF

8. Austin Romine, C
