Five Covid diagnoses are tied to an indoor wedding at Crystal Gardens Banquet Hall in Southgate last Saturday that violated state resitrictions, the Wayne County Public Health Division said Wednesday.

More than 100 people attended the indoor reception and may be at risk, the county said. Whitmer's order limits indoor gatherings to 10 or less and 100 for outdoors.

The Wayne County communicable disease team has launched an investigation and is tracing the confirmed cases and reaching out to attendees. Those who tested positive are advised to self-isolate until cleared by health authorities.

Partygoers are being encouraged to call the health division at (734) 727-7078 to report their contacts, get tested and quarantine if directed.

A notice from the office reminds Wayne County banquet halls of the governor's order.
