Three men arrested for allegedly shooting at Detroit police

August 28, 2020, 8:33 AM

Detroit police have arrested three people they say were involved in a drive-by shooting at officers Tuesday morning.

WWJ reports police say more than ten shots were fired at officers conducting a traffic stop on Telegraph Road near McNichols, forcing them to dive for cover. They were not hurt.

The suspects were arrested after a car chase that ended in a crash. Two suspects were injured when their car flipped. A fourth suspect may be at large.

The shooting comes amid increased tensions between law enforcement and citizens nationwide.

Detroit police have shot four people since July 10, killing three. Suspects were violent toward officers in two of those cases.
