Chef Prej Iroegbu says on Facebook that his food truck reaches back to the mountains of Isuikwuato in Nigeria, his homeland, to create "the flavors and traditions of authentic Nigerian cuisine." A special peanut spice is among key ingredients, he tells us.
Stationed at 19910 Livernois Ave. in Detroit, his food Fork in Nigeria food truck, serves a variety of tasty dishes that include steak, goat and chicken. He also offers vegetarian options.
Detroit Digest hosts Carlos Parisi and Kyle Sammy recently stopped by the Avenue of Fashion between the Green Acres and Sherwood Forest neighborhoods to sample the dishes. The truck serves daily from noon to 9 p.m.
