Deadline Detroit contributing columnist Eric Starkman has been chronicling the decline of Beaumont Health and its plan to merge with Advocate Aurora, a giant hospital health system based in Chicago. Last Friday, Beaumont gave in to pressure and pulled the plug.
Starkman talks about that and reasons to replace CEO John Fox and his management team. Doctors and nurses have expressed no confidence in Fox's leadership and a number have left.
"The hospital is crippled," Starkman tells Fahle. "As long as John Fox and his deputies remain there, the ship can’t be righted."
