With the weather getting colder and Covid cases surging, The Old Miami bar on Cass Avenue in Midtown shut indefinitely.
On Facebook, the legendary bar explained:
The Old Miami is TEMPORARILY closed for business as of Thursday, November 12 until further notice. It is too cold to serve outside and too dangerous to serve inside due to the raging coronavirus infection rates.
We have plans in effect when it is deemed safe enough to open our doors. As always, thanks for your patronage!
Michigan bars and other monessential businesses were closed by the governor March 23 during the pandemic and were allowed to reopen June 8. Some bars have opted not to open during the pandemic.
