Oscar-Nominated Short Films Will Be Shown Online by DIA

March 29, 2021, 7:45 AM

The beloved Academy Award-Nominated Short Films, an annual presentation that often sells out at the Detroit Institute of Arts, will be screened virtually this year, another reminder of the challenges we still face.

The 18 films will be available online from April 2-25, the day the Oscars are broadcast on ABC. A link to buy tickets will soon be posted on the Detroit Film Theater website.

Tickets are $12 for each category or $30 for all.

"A significant portion of ticket revenues will go directly to support the DFT, making it possible for us to reopen our historic 1,100-seat theatre for regular year-round public screenings as soon as our rigorous safety standards for audiences and staff can be fully met," the DIA posts.

Some of last March's screenings were cancelled for health reasons.
