Former Oakland County Sheriff's deputy Kevin McNally faces charges of slapping a handcuffed woman after she allegedly kicked his groin last November in Rochester Hills.
An Oakland County Circuit Court trial is set for July 8 on charges of assault and misconduct in office, The Oakland Press reports (subscription needed).
The incident stemmed from the woman's arrest on suspicion of assaulting a woman and stealing her car. The suburbanb daily says:
According to a report from the sheriff’s office issued soon afterward, the woman was “incoherent and appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and McNally attempted to interview her.” She then kicked McNally and he responded by slapping her, the sheriff’s office said.
McNally was fired in January following two investigations.
