The Detroit Police Department apparently isn't the only local entity to misidentify Black people with help from facial recognition — a Livonia skate rink now has that dubious distinction too.

Lamya Robinson, 14, tells Fox 2 she was barred from entering Riverside Arena last Saturday after staff used the technology to mistakenly peg her as a girl who'd been involved a brawl there in March. But Lamya says she'd never been to the rink before, and her family says she was home on the March night in question, as it was a school night.

The rink tells the station it explained to Lamya's mother that "sometimes the line is quite long and it's hard to look into things when the system is running. The software had her daughter at a 97 percent match ... If there was a mistake, we apologize for that."

The family is reportedly considering suing.
