Macomb Prosecutor Pete Lucido, once sidelined for allegedly touching butts, is still touching butts

August 02, 2021, 2:25 PM

Old habits apparently die hard for Pete Lucido.

The Macomb County Republican prosecutor — who lost a committee chairmanship in the state Legislature in 2020 after an internal probe found he likely rested his hand on the upper butts of a female colleague and business leader, making them uncomfortable — has posted a photo showing himself touching yet another woman's butt.

The picture publicized by Crain's reporter Chad Livengood shows Lucido with his arms around supporters Ralphe Armstrong, a local jazz bassist and his 29-year-old daughter Angela at a late July birthday party and campaign fundraiser. While Lucido appears to have one hand placed on the musician's back, his other rests lower, on the woman's posterior, in a move awkward enough to require him to pose at a sort of tilt.

Lucido was elected last year after former prosecutor Eric Smith fell to corruption charges. In a comment on our Facebook page, he dismisses this post as "seeking to sexualize normal contact between individuals in a widely attended social situation."

At Michigan Advance, Ken Coleman quotes Ralphe Armstrong as saying Lucido's touch wasn't upsetting.

"His family helped feed my daughter. It was fine with me. ... He is family to us."

Guests at Lucido's 61st b-day bash also included 'White Boy' Rick Wershe, Jr. and former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, who is now running for governor as a Republican and gave a speech. Photos show Lucido touching both in more appropriate places.
