The week-old federal trial in Grand Rapids for four men accused of plotting to abduct Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been delayed because of Covid. It was set to resume Monday.

A court document filed Sunday said "an essential trial participant alerted the court this afternoon of developing symptoms of and testing positive for Covid over the weekend," Jim Kiertzner of WXYZ reports.

The court order says "assuming no other complications, the court hopes to re-convene trial on Thursday, March 17, 2022."

An undercover FBI agent is the next witness.

Brandon Caserta, of Canton Township, Daniel Harris of Lake Orion, Adam Fox of Grand Rapids, and Barry Croft of Delaware are accused of a 2020 kidnapping conspiracy.
