Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says that as Trump was contesting the results of the 2020 election, he suggested that she be arrested for treason and executed.
Benson tells NBC News Trump made the statement at a White House meeting, citing a source familiar with it.
A Trump spokeswoman denied it, the network reports:
Reached for comment ... Taylor Budowich said: "I have it on good authority that Secretary Benson knowingly lied throughout her interview with NBC News."
Benson is facing a Trump-endorsed candidate in Kristina Karamo. She too believes the election was stolen from and has reportedly said: “Secretary of State Benson should go to jail.”
