"Gorgeous, intimate bar," "a really cool throwback" and "a unique experience" are among recent praise for Time WIll Tell, which Eater Detroit says has "a kind of vintage '50s neighborhood bar vibe."

The small bar on Woodward Avenue near East Baltimore Street is run by the Detroit Optimist Society, which also owns Wright & Company restaurant, the Sugar House and Bad Luck Bar.

Eater's local editor, Serena Maria Daniels, posts:

The vibe is a departure from some of the hospitality group’s other properties, many of which lean in on dim lighting, minimalist design and a higher price point on the menus. ... “We want to have a little bit more whimsy here and have a little little bit of fun,” says [owner Dave] Kwiatkowski. ...

The menu features playful cocktails with a particular focus on tequila, mezcal, and rum ... as well as a brief list of craft beers, and wine by the glass. Most menu items are $10 or less and none go for more than $12.

When guests are handed their checks, they’re usually tucked inside an old book.

The location, opposite the Baltimore Street QLine stop, is the latest attraction in an emerging neighborhood for dining and nightlife.
