Former Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers believes in second acts.
In 2017, she lost her weekend radio gig on 910 AM Superstation after management said she tried to book a $750-a-night room at the pricey Peninsula Chicago hotel at the station's expense.
Now, she's back.
The station announced Monday that she'll return next week with a weekly show Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Conyers, who was married to the late Congressman John Conyers, pleaded guilty in 2009 to conspiracy to commit bribery in connection with her council job, and was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison. The following year the state passed a law forbidding a convicted felon from holding state or local office for 20 years.
Conyers challenged that law in federal court after she was recently blocked from being on the Demoractic primary ballot to run for Wayne County executive against incumbent Warren Evans.
A Detroit federal judge rejected her argument and she appealed, before filing a motion last Friday to drop the case.
