Michigan voters head to the polls Tuesday to select party candidates for offices including governor and Congress.

Five Republicans are vying to face Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer after half of the early candidates were sidelined by fraud in the petition-signature gathering process. Tudor Dixon, a political newcomer who spent most of her career working for her family's steel company before launching a little known right-wing news service, emerged as the frontrunner within the past month and over the weekened received Donald Trump's coveted endorsement. Kevin Rinke, Ryan Kelley, Garrett Soldano and Ralph Rebandt round out the field. You can read more about each candidate at Bridge Michigan.

On the Congressional front, redistricting has led to an ugly battle in the 11th between Reps. Haley Stevens and Andy Levin. Pro-Israeli groups have poured millions into supporting Stevens and attacking Levin as "anti Israel." Levin is Jewish and supports a two-state solution, but has been more critical than Stevens of Israel's treatment of Palestinians. More on the race from the Free Press.

Outside money and barbs have also featured prominently in the open race for the 13th, where State Sen. Adam Hollier hopes to counter state Rep. Shri Thanedar's $8 million, self-funded campaign with backing from a number of murky groups. Recent polling suggests the pair and Portia Roberson, CEO of the non-profit Focus: HOPE, who has run a more modest campaign devoid of public attacks, lead the field of nine candidates. Roberson is endorsed by the Free Press and Michael Griffie, an attorney who has organized charter schools and is currently with Teach for America's Detroit chapter, is endorsed by The Detroit News.

The district's current rep, Rashida Tlaib, is running in the 12th. She's favored to beat Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey, who is backed by the Israeli lobby, among others. More on the race from Axios Detroit.

Further down the ballot in portions of Detroit and Oakland County, redistricting has pitted incumbent state Sens. Mallory McMorrow and Marshall Bullock against one another in the 8th. The Detroit News has more on that race and another competitive primary in the 6th.

At the county level, Wayne Executive Warren Evans is running for re-election. Sheriff Raphael Washington is running to retain his position he was appointed to last year after Sheriff Benny Napoleon died from Covid.
