Michigan & Trumbull Pizza Resurfaces in Detroit's New Center Area

Michigan & Trumbull Pizza, which makes a legitimate pie, is reopening at 1331 Holden St. in Detroit's New Center area.

The pizza joint, which Nathan Peck and Kristen Calverley opened in January 2020 at 1441 W. Elizabeth near the corner of Michigan and Trumbul in Corktown, closed earlier this year after they failed to negotiate a new, affordable lease. 

At the same time, the pizza joint won a $55,000 grant this year from the Motor City Match program.

A ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday was attended by Mayor Mike Duggan. The shop said on Facebook that it plans to open intially this week with carryout only.
