With the Tuesday primary in Michigan quickly approaching, underdog GOP candidate Nikki Haley sniped at opponent Donald Trump, saying he's reponsible for dividing her party in Michigan and losing a grip on the state.

"You just saw all of these wins that were happening in Michigan," Haley told the Detroit News in an interview Sunday night, adding: "It all fell apart since Donald Trump became president."

Trump won the state in 2016, beating Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes. Since then, there has been a Blue Wave in Michigan in 2018, 2020 and 2022. Trump lost to Biden in 2020 by about 154,000 votes.

Haley told the publication that so long as Trump and supporters keep pushing the false narrative that he lost Michigan because of voter fraud, "Republicans will keep losing. Period."

She said Trump can't win the general election.

"He wants to have the Republican Party be his own playpen," Haley told The News of Trump. "You can't have a playpen where you use campaign contributions to pay your personal court cases. You can't have a playpen where you go and you criticize your opponents' supporters."

Trump is heavily favored in the Michigan primary and is expected to trounce Haley.

But even after loss after loss in the primaries, she has said she'll continue to fight.

As for now, Trump is the obvious GOP candidate going into the final stretch.

But things could change at the GOP convention set for July 15 to 18 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, particularly if Trump is convicted of felonies.

That being said, GOP leaders have insisted they'll be no fight on the convention floor if Trump is the nominee.
