Comerica Park in downtown Detroit, which opened in April 2000, has gotten a $30 million renovation, Kurt Nagl of Crain's Detroit Business reports:

"Fans will notice big changes at the stadium when the team returns to town April 5, including a massive new videoboard, new TVs throughout the concourse and audio enhancements."

Last July,  Metro Times columnist Joe Lapointe lamented about the park's decline, noting glitched-out TVs, speakers that don’t work, nonfunctioning drinking fountains, frozen clocks and a closed carousel.

Fans also hope the improvements include a better team.

The Tigers finished last season with a 78-84 record, which landed them in second place, 9 games out of first.
