Detroit City Football Club Plans to Building New Stadium in Corktown

Detroit City Football Club, which currently plays before passionate crowds at Hamtramck's Keyworth Stadium, plans to build a new stadium on the site of the abandoned Southwest Detroit Hospital in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood, the Detroit News reports.

The move to Michigan Avenue and 20th Street is expected in time for the 2027 season.

News comes as Ford Motor Company is about to unveil its restoration and renovation of the Michigan Central Station on June 6. Ford is creating a campus for its workers and others including those with startups from around the world.
