Update: 7:15 p.m. Thursday -- Marco Bisbikis, the attorney for Oak Park jeweler Daniel Hutchinson, and accused htiman Roy Larry were both convicted Thursday in Oakland County Circuit Court of murdering Hutchinson in 2022.

The jury deliberated for about 90 minutes before reaching a guilty verdict in the murder of the jeweler known as "Hutch the Jeweler," the Oakland Press reports.

They will both be sentenced to a mandatory term of life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder.

Roy Larry, 46, is accused of carrying out a murder-for-hire scheme to kill Daniel Hutchinson, aka "Hutch the Jeweler," in June 2022 in Oak Park. Hutchinson's lawyer Marco Bisbikis, 39, is charged with hiring him, allegedly with hopes of financially benefiting from the death.

On Tuesday, Larry took the stand on his own behalf in Oakland County Circuit Court and testified, according to the Oakland Press:

“I didn’t kill nobody. I didn’t wait 46 years to kill."

On Monday, Larry's cousin Darnell Larry, testified that he brought Roy into the plot after he wanted out.

The Oakland Press reports:

Surveillance video shows a man on an electric bike ride up to the Hutchinsons while they sat in their Yukon Denali outside a pawn shop building they had recently purchased on Greenfield Road in Oak Park. He fired more than a dozen shots, killing Daniel Hutchinson, then rode away. An employee of the Hutchinsons reportedly drove after him in his vehicle, and it’s believed he hit the shooter with his car.

Police arrested Roy Larry a short time later. He had a severe injury to his lower leg, according to police testimony heard earlier in the trial.

Rappers, pro athletes and reputed drug dealers were loyal patrons of Hutchinson's jewelry store, located in Oak Park off Greenfield. Miami hip-hop mogul Rick Ross made a habit of displaying his newest "Hutch the Jeweler" custom-made diamond chains, watches, bracelets and designer eyeglasses on his social media accounts, according to a 2022 story in Deadline Detroit by Scott Burnstein.  He would arrive in Detroit and go shopping at Hutch's Jewelry on the way to his hotel.
