Sanders Bumpy Cake Fans Rejoice

October 03, 2013, 6:32 AM by  Allan Lengel

Forget the government shutdown, Detroit's bankruptcy filing, Miguel Cabrera's injuries.

Sanders is celebrating its 100th anniversary of its bakery division and its very much adored bumpy cake.

This may not be big news, but for foodies, it's worth noting.

The company, in a press release, announced the addition of 2 new flavors of cheesecake to their product line:  Chocolate Fudge Bumpy Cheesecake and New York Style Cheesecake.

The press release states:

With the widely popular New York Style as an offering, they sought out an additional flavor creation that would be unique to Sanders. As the staple in their bakery line, Bumpy Cake was the clear winner when considering a unique flavor and look.

After many test runs they perfected a cheesecake that is a new spin on an old favorite. The Chocolate Fudge Bumpy Cheesecake has the tradition bumpy appearance but the ridges are buttercream cheesecake as opposed to the traditional buttercream bumps on the cake. Rich chocolate cheesecake sits on top of a chocolate cookie base and chocolate fudge gnash covers the entire decadent dessert.

The cakes cost $24.99.
