It may not be the most notorious crime, and they may not be Lindsay Lohan, but the three Grosse Pointe Woods teens have gotten their share of publicity from all of this.

The latest: attorneys for the three three Grosse Pointe Woods teens accused of spray-painting their names and obscenities on downtown buildings say they're trying to hammer out a plea deal with prosecutors, George Hunter of The Detroit News reports

Hunter reports that the three teens,  Isabella Mary Meteer, 18, Mackenzie Lynn Snitgen and Mary Elizabeth Harder, both 17, were arraigned Monday in Wayne Circuit Court.

They face felony charges of defacing two buildings in the 40 block of Michigan Avenue and the 1100 block of Griswold in Detroit on June 22.

During a brief court proceeding, defense attorney Samuel Churikian, told the judge “we are engaged in meaningful negotiations with the prosecutor in an attempt to resolve this matter," according to the Detroit News.

The case probably got considerably more attention than it might otherwise  have gotten had Dan Gilbert not gotten involved. He owns a building at 1001 Woodward, which shares an alley with one of the defaced buildings.

Gilbert wrote that the teens were “degenerates” and “clowns” and sent out emails asking his workers to help identify the trio.
